Elections for Executive School Council
The first meeting in September of each year is our Annual General Meeting where the executive school council is elected by the School Council. The School Council includes all parents of Earl Haig Secondary School and the Claude Watson Arts Program.
The Executive includes 2 Co-chairs, 2 Vice-chairs (Collegiate and Claude Watson), Secretary, Treasurer, 2 School Ward forum reps, and 10 Parent members. Also appointed on the executive is the Principal/designate, Teaching Rep., Non-Teaching Staff Rep, Student Rep, and Community Rep. The Executive meets prior to the General Meetings from 6:00 pm to 7:25 p.m.
Interested candidates should complete a nomination form and return it to the school office by 3:30 p.m. on the Friday of the first week of school. If there are more nominations than what is required for the council, an election will be held at the AGM. If an election is not needed, then the nominated candidates will be declared elected by acclamation.
