Athletics for Gr. 10-12 Students
New students to Earl Haig in grades 10-12 who are interested in playing sports, please come to a meeting Thursday Sept 10th, 2009 in the small gym at 3:35pm.
Haig Volleyball Intramurals Update
Thank you to those who participated in the Volleyball Intramurals this year! Congratulations to the Teacher Team who won the championships with a complete shut out throughout the whole tournament. A great final match was played and Alex V's team performed superbly. Thank you once again for participating and keep watch for the upcoming Dodgeball Intramurals! Support the Sports!
Sr. Boys Classic Basketball Tournament
Earl Haig's Athletic Council recently hosted a successful Sr. Boys Classic Basketball Tournament, in which they hosted games for eight teams from across Toronto including Earl Haig's Sr. Team. EHAC was able to fundraise an enormous amount of money and the Haigstate team proudly represented the school by winning the tournament. Congratulations to Earl Haig's Senior Team, Forest Hill (Consolation Winner) and EHAC for organizing a terrific tournament! It was a great way to start off the new year!
Varsity Girls Field Hockey team
Earl Haig's Varsity Girls Field Hockey team was yet again undefeated through out their fall season. Although they lost a few strong players last year, they were able to gain new ones who proved they had the skill to be on the team. Not only did they receive the title of the North Region Champions the 2nd year in a row, but advanced to City's, and captured a 2nd place finish in the TDSB Field Hockey League! Congratulations to the girls for another great season with great effort, spirit, skill and most importantly team work!
